HepTown Records is a Scandinavian record label and was founded in 2002 in Lund in the south of Sweden. They’re influenced by labels like Bomp Records, Gearhead Records, People Like You, Rhino Records, Crypt Records and others….
Since 2002 they’ve released records in style of rockabilly, swing, psychobilly, 50’s, punkrock, garage, jazz, americana, country, surf, celtic and other alternative music styles.
The last few years they’ve grown into being one of the leading underground labels of Scandinavia.
Last august they’ve released a new 3 trax single called “Space Invaders” by the rockabilly trio Wild Wax Combo. This band from Copenhagen Denmark got together in 1996 and they call their style Ultra Rare Garage Rockabilly.
By listening to their single, I must agree with them. The A-side of the single is the song Space Invaders. It’s an up tempo song, raw rockabilly – close to psychobilly, but is sure got you moving!
The B-side consists of the songs Josephine and How about me pretty baby?
Both very good danceable songs.
Also on the cover of the single has paid much attention; the look is very authentic, a vintage look as they call it nowadays.
The line up of this trio is:
Andre Preuthun (guitar), Mikael Findanis (drums) and Rene Karlsson (bass).
Before this single they’ve released six albums already and these albums are all available by HepTown Records: Jungle Fever (CD)
Rumble In The Jungle (CD)
Hot Rod Doll (CD)
Lip Lickin’ Lou (CD)
Ready To Go (CD)
Rockabilly Ball – Best Of – Unreleased (CD)
