Here’s another album of the Swedish record label: HepTown records: The troubled Three – Moving on.

The troubled Three are a trio from Stockholm, Sweden. Rick LeMae, drums. Huckleberry Jerry, guitar. Travellin’ Tom, double bass.

They started this Rockabilly band in 2009, but they have a background in rock, punk and pop. When they dived into the roots music they found Big Joe Turner, Roy Montrell and the Tielmanbrothers as their inspiration. They are known to have a stageshow with instruments flying around or even bandmembers balancing on one another.
In 2011 they participated in the tv program: “Sweden’s got Talent” and made it all the way to the semi finals.

Their first cd with all original songs, opens with Slow Down Ms. Brown. A song with a jive rhythm, sax solo, drum solo. Almost sounds like a big band. They have their own sound for sure. A roaring guitarsound, with the dark acoustic sound of the double bass and sax. The harmonica solo in “Nice girl” gives it a rhythm and blues touch. Rolling drums on “Let me satisfy your soul”.

I think The Troubled Three has mixed the sound of roots music and present rockabilly very well. Shall I compare them with another band? If I may, we can put them in a box with the Seatsniffers, and they would get along.
