Producers of the New Orleans Burlesque Documentary Are Offering a Grand Prize of A Trip for Two to New Orleans and a Chance to Perform With Slow Burn Burlesque and the stars of Save Our Soul At Howlin’ Wolf in July 2012
Save Our Souls is the provocative new documentary from director Mike Sanchez, which gives a raw and intimate glimpse of the neo-burlesque scene in New Orleans in the months after Hurricane Katrina through the eyes of the performers of the Slow Burn Burlesque troupe.
Personal interviews with the artists strip away the glitter and lashes, revealing the humanity of the art-form that calls this broken city “home.” As New Orleans rebuilds, the stories and the performances of Slow Burn unfold for Sanchez’s camera, playing out to a hand-picked rock ‘n roll score, which features music from The Yelling and Russian Mafia band Debauche.
With over 10,000 followers on Twitter and a loyal following on Facebook, the producers of Save Our Souls would like to give their supporters a chance to become part of the story by giving them a chance to win a trip for two to New Orleans and an opportunity to take the stage with Slow Burn Burlesque for their show at Howlin’ Wolf in July.
Fans and artists are invited to submit a video of their best burlesque routine to be judged by the Slow Burn Burlesque troupe. Once the submissions have been narrowed down to three finalists, the fans will be asked to “like” their favorite video, and the video with the most “likes” after it’s been announced as a finalist will win the grand prize.
The finalists will each receive a Save Our Souls movie poster, signed by the cast of Slow Burn Burlesque, along with a limited edition screener of the film and its soundtrack. The lucky performer to win the grand prize will receive roundtrip airfare to New Orleans from anywhere in the continental US, hotel accommodations, and a spot on stage to perform their winning routine in Slow Burn Burlesque’s July 14 show at Howlin’ Wolf. The contest is limited to US residents only, girls and guys who want to show off their burlesque best, who are 18 years of age or older.
