For the rockers who are expecting a late Christmas-CD from this article, comes out deceived. Because that’s what i first thought when i heard this. But when i did the CD in the player on Christmas , I was happily surprised!
Let’s begin with the label, Part Records. I remembered that i saw this label on the cd’s and lp’s from the Foggy Mountain Rockers and other great bands. So I went and look at other bands Part Records putted out, so I could get some expectations from this album.
Some genre’s they publish: R’n’R, Rockabilly, Psychobilly, Westernswing, Swing and more. They also organize weekenders and events. And that sinds 1995/1996. So good expectations from this one!
And I wasn’t disappointed. From the moment I putted in the CD in my
CD-player, i heard some good tunes coming out of the speaker! They start the album with some good old rockabilly! But on track 2 they show they can also let you swing on the floor. They go romantic with ‘Baby Blue Eyes’, 40’s Blues with through and through, while ‘Drivin’ Home’ is a good instrumental with a nice guitar sound.
Conclusion: As you can read, a lot of everything on this CD! It has slow songs, fast songs and everything in between. All with all a good album!
