Tattoo Convention Rotterdam, part III: fashion!

At the tattoo convention I had a blast dancing to the music of the bands Departure Level and El Rio Trio, watching the rollerderby, all the very artistic tattoo’s and watching fashion.

Models: Chelsea, Marije, Angellica Dean, Fraulein Swarzch, Ginger, Ruby La Roux, Rana, Venus

I was backstage to get dressed myself and had company of the Rockabella’s Inc. modeling agency models. I took a peek at their sexy looking outfits. Black, grey, rubber latex kind of materials. Bernardien had her models lined up for a spectacular fashion show on the catwalk and gave them their last instructions.

The designer is the Italian Maison Rode. The special thing about the clothes is everything is made out of recycled materials, handmade and therefore unique. Materials like car and bicycle tires, drapes.

Their main photographer Erika Zanatta Figabomba opened the fashion show.

The Rockabella herself has styled hair, make up and the show. It was eye candy all the time. Sexy dresses, classy bags, great big hats. Unbelievable what you can make of recycled materials. Very creative!

The Rockabella agency has something to look forward to. They are working on a book which will contain The Rockabella’s work from the beginning untill now. At least a hundred pictures will be selected. It will be printed this year, but nothing known about the release date yet.

After the show I said hi to Dieuwerke and Patrick of Glamrock clothing. They were part of the organisation of this tattoo convention. They booked the three bands, and it was a very good choice (if I may say so myself :P). They will me booking for the next tattoo convention in Eindhoven too. Next to the stage they had set up their own shop with beautiful vintage style clothes, shoes, accessories. They have very special hairpieces with a tiki heart. The tiki’s are handmade by Tiki Rodney and in combination with the flowers they all are unique. For the next collection they have selected from small European brands. Most of them once produced collections: Emmy design from Sweden, Glamour Bunny from United Kingdom, Jojo& Mac from United Kingdom and the German Voodoo Beat.

A girl can’t have enough dresses, especially when you have to wear them on stage. So I had to get my hands on a new beauty, but which one to choose? I had my eyes on three! My friend Brie helped me choose the black dress, that fitted like a very feminine glove. Thanks to the models for inspiration and Glamrock for selling the right stuff to us. Like Dieuwerke sais: If you’re happy with your own mirror image, that’s priceless.
