Friday! Almost weekend, time to party. Cocktail time indeed. Let me inspire you with this woozy cocktail: Between the sheets. I don’t think it is a bedtime drink, but I guess you can drink it on any happy occasion. 😉
The Between The Sheets cocktail was created by Harry MacElhone, bartender at the eponymous Harry’s New York Bar in Paris, in the 1930’s.
Even with the addition of rum, Cognac still remains the dominant flavour, though the rum is there in the background somewhere. Between The Sheets stands up well as a nicely balanced member of the sour family.
It is also referred to as a Maiden’s Prayer.
• ¾ shot Cognac
• ¾ shot light rum
• ¾ shot Cointreau
• ½ shot lemon juice
• Shake all ingredients well with ice and fine strain in to a cocktail glass. Garnish with a lemon twist.
